Palin posted a video on her Face Book page in response to all the criticism

Satch of Bridgend Zap, why do you keep on demonstrating your limited
intelligence? Just stay in your padded cell and shut up.
That's how some children talk.
newswoman Not a racist, hunh, Zap????? Get off this blog. You have nothing to
tps364 Yea, don't worry about that "Freedom of Speech" thing. BTW, what is your
Boy, if these aren't knee-jerk reactions...... Nearly all of you have posted in
response to Zap with a snotty remark, and usually do. lmao! Most of you lefties
on this rag do not have the intelligence or the class to to discuss the issues
with any respectable level of decency. It's always, "attack the messenger".
Zap's witty inventions speak volumes compared to you. And he does it without all
the vitriol. Because you clearly don't understand what he's saying, I'm probably
wasting my time. But I have a little spare time and don't mind reaching in to
bitch-slap someone when I see fit. My take on the speech is this: It was well
written as a presidential speech should be. Obama spoke in usual Obamacles
speak. buzzbuzz The event as a whole: Despicable! I thought I saw a slight
nervousness on Napolitano and Obama about the exuberance of the 17,000 in
attendance. They might have pulled off this well choriograhed event if they had
bussed in sign holders or something instead of the prep rally crews. This event
hardly mirrors the 1 million population of Tuscon. But hey, as long as it looks
good, maybe nobody will notice. buzzbuzz...... I want to say it's the same old
song and dance, but there too are many inconsistencies with this president. I
guess he didn't see the political advantage to holding a similar rally at Fort
Hood. Or at the memorials for the recruiter deaths. Nevertheless, Obama didn't
let the crisis go to waste. I predict IF Obama gets through the Democrat
primary, he will lose the general by a historic margin. The narcisist on
training wheels freak show has had it's 15 min. of fame. Oh, and to those who
are capable of posting more than a 5 word insult, and those who don't have to
copy and paste bits of someone elses blog, hmm......that leaves out any lefties
reader3 tps - You'll have to admit, that it's difficult to respond to zap's
comment. There's nothing there but a racist crack about his diction and the word
"boring". Is that ZAP'S contribution?
Most people found Obama's words comforting and uplifting, as evidenced by the
reaction of the families of the fallen. You'll agree that AZ is heavily
Republican, so it stands to reason that most of the family members are as well.
At the conclusion, many strained to shake Obama's hand, to thank him, and to
compliment his speech. I guess you think that they were all democrats, huh?
As for zap's childish rantings, he/she/it ha every right to rant. Just as
newswoman has every right to tell him/her/it to shut up. Racism bothers some
people, you see...
That was more than five words, and I await your critique, you bozo.
*I added that at the last minute just to be sure we're speaking the same
Rankfile I'll give Zap one thing -- he's quick on the buzzer, always first to
post so he can start things off on a negative track.
tps364 -- (catchy handle BTW), Zap is the knee-jerk around here. He only
responds to the name Obama and never actually seems to absorb the content he's
mocking or whatever he's supposed to be doing.
If you find that worthy of your support, each to their own.
On your post, you seem to have a problem with the "exuberance" of the gathered
assembly. But aren't the denizens of Tucson entitled to mourn as they see fit?
The mass was held earlier in the day and don't mistake the lack of solemnity for
a lack of intensity.
Did you see the faces of the families of the victims? Did you? I don't think so.
Because one could clearly gauge from their reaction that the event was doing
justice to how they felt amidst this hurricane of loss.
There. More than five words. No cut and paste.
Jasun Mark You wanted him to tap dance and tell jokes or something?
redsunriseman1 Well if your attention span is that limited to only WWF or
Housewives or a dog and poney show ,then I guess it would bore you .We weren't
watching a minstral show with Al Joleson , we were watching a memorial that
shouldn't have had to be, if only bigots , crazies, and haters would get over
the fact that the man in the oval office is BLACK. SP is capitalizing on that
fact ,and is milking it for all its worth , as she said durning the campaign " I
ain't doing this for nothing " a responce to her running as McCain's VP , she
knew it was her street credit to run for the office herself regardless if they
won or lost. Well her march to the Whitehouse is filled with the bones of those
she uses ,and discards to get to her imangined God Given Role . As far as Obama

zapzinger Sarah Palin, gorgeous & gracious, came out way ahead of the curve & on
the right side of history.
Gracious? The woman has probably never been that in her entire life. Petulant
and whining is more accurate. Protruding chin to hide all the things she doesn't
know and doesn't want to know.
anghiari hmmmm...given the number of hysterical Palin apologists...President
Obama must of have hit that speech out of the park! Former Governor Palin on the
other hand was knee deep in crisis management in her little spiel. Clearly the
Republicans are caught...thrilled that she just nailed her public persona to a
level of stupidity that is expected ...bound to happen sooner or later. She will
no longer be a problem for Republican hierarchy who have been praying she would
do just this....but they are a bit sad, because she allowed herself to be
compared to President Obama in this critical moment. How did that woman get this
moment sooooooooooooo wrong? Girlfriend, it is not the time to cry in your beer,
but a time to give condolences and step off stage. Anybody else notice she fell
down the rabbit hole? (big smile)
lodger16z This is
, not 1992. We all can see and think about what the Prez was reacting to. Obama,
Sarah, Trent Franks, Rush. etc., all got their 2 cents in. But so did the other
300 million Americans, if they wanted to. The irrelevance of the Beltway is best
shown by the uninspired yawns milieu of the Sunday Morning talk shows, which
anyone under 65 wouldn't be caught dead watching!

"mourner in chief", "put palin to shame". do you realize this isn't journalism.
this is propaganda right out of the pravda playbook. liberals are disgusting and
texmiahall To Innocent'....go back to your hole and take Palin with you.
Nitebird33 Hmmmm. Funny how the Fox News critics gathered to critique the speech
had high praise for the President. They certainly aren't lumped in with the the
so-called "lamestream" media. So what gives? Is it possible? Could it be that
President Obama handled the affair with the proper dignity and tone that the
situation called for? I guess not in the minds , such as they exist, of the far
right. Some right wingers are so disgusting and shameless...
newswoman I heard one criticism on Imus from Chris Wallace. The speech was TOO
LONG. Imus said the President couldn't help it if the audience (college
students) clapped and cheered all the time. That took up some time. But,
otherwise he got a good rating from the conservatives.
RobbyS My only complaint, if such that is what it is, was the setting--and the
focus on Obama's performance. They were selling cokes. And it lent to a pep
rally atmosphere. The only call for cheering was when Obama revealed Gifford's
progress. I only pray that that was not the high point in her recovery.
FauxHunter "innocent" hadn't watched Fox yet so missed what they were supposed
to be Feeling today...
Carole65 While I did not vote for Obama, and will probably not vote for him in
2012, your remarks in this particular tragedy do not resonante with mainstream
Americans. It's important to keep criticism to policies proposed and enacted by
his administration and not to the man. His eulogy last night was excellent and
deserves kudos. Fox News commentators also agree, and I wouldn't classify them
as "lamestream media" As far as Sarah Palin's remarks are concerned, she, in my
opinion, should have saved it for awhile and not have done it before the slain
victims were buried and the nation returned to business. It translated into her
angst at unfair criticism by the left wing nuts. If she had confined her remarks
to the tragedy and left her well founded criticisms for a future date, she would
have been better received. If she ever had plans to run for POTUS, her support
has been eroded, and she, alone, is responsible.
sangha774 Carole65: Excellent.
newswoman It's true, Carole. The fact that Ms Gifford mentioned the 'crosshairs'
map of Palin's and then was shot, puts Palin in a bad position. She is not
responsible for Lougner's crazy act, but because her 'map' was mentioned by the
AZ representative, she will be forever linked. I think her presidential run is
over, if she ever had one.
Carole65 No, newswomen, Palin's map had no provable evidence for this tragedy.
Did you miss the subtile rebuke of the President last night for those who
suggested it did? You, like Sheriff Dupnik and Sarah Palin are piling up in the
same toxic rabbit hole of the "blame game".
FauxHunter I agree but I would like to raise the question...SP basically talked
about herself...she was hurt and angry...and she talked about her
wounds...despite the fact That People Had Actually Been Killed...
There is IMHO an immaturity expressed in the way she handled herself. She Did
accomplish her "political goal" of revving her base the whole "they are all
against me=they are all against you.
nut is That appropriate...is it Fair to negate the opinions of grief stricken
families Just to preserve her political stance...
she could have defended herself...since that was her main goal...but still
acknowledge the grief and feelings of Gabby's dad...
people who love her would have loved her no matter what...everyone else just got
a much worse impression of her...
Carole65 FauxHunter...........I confess that I didn't watch her video and based
my opinion on what was reported. And I think you're right, that those who love
her have conviently rationalized the attention she drew to her legitimate
complaints, but her taking yesterday to do that was illadvised and unfortunate
for her, if she had any plans at seeking the Presidency. She doesn't top my list
as the best candidate, but if she ever had, she got moved to the very bottom.
ittybittykitty Good one Carole.
Ronin58 Carole 65
Flagged for sanity, decency, and intelligence !
UNIVERSALIS So Palin supporters are Mainstream America ?! HAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHA!
President Obama did not rebuke his supporters who blame Palin for this tragedy.
As usual, he had a bet each way.
"For the truth is that none of us can know exactly what triggered this vicious
attack. None of us can know with any certainty what might have stopped those
shots from being fired, or what thoughts lurked in the inner recesses of a
violent man's mind."
He said that incivility did not cause this tragedy, but stopped short of
denouncing those who have been stoking anger at conservatives, whom we now know
had nothing to do with this man's evil act.
President Obama, as usual, laid the blame on Americans in general. As Powers put
it: Among the many odd assertions he made: he said that this tragedy requires
that "we align our values with our actions". We were told to "expand our moral
imaginations", whatever that might mean.
Then he told Americans to "be better," as if we somehow caused this shooting to
happen. He said, "We may not be able to stop all evil in the world, but..... how
we treat one another is entirely up to us."
Having stopped short of saying conservatives like Palin didn't cause the
tragedy, he ends by saying that political discourse caused it. As Powers said,
he isn't suggesting that how you treat the mailman or your mother, is at issue.
estcruzer The fact is that Palin had the crosshairs map removed on AFTER Gifford
was shot (along with 18 others including a Judge and a 9 year old girl both of
which were killed in this massacre). Surely Palin didn't think that her map
contributed to the madness - or did she, Why did she remove it anyway, was the

The event was a tribute to the dead and injured. President Obama looked
disconcerted at the noisy cheering and applause during speeches before his. They
even cheered and stamped their feet when Janet Napolitano and Eric Holder read
from Scripture (both movingly, by the way). It was bizarre and you have to
wonder who organized the cheer squad. Maybe the University president who spoke
as though he was giving a sales pitch. When Obama himself spoke the rabble

Lilli917 Isabella, I agree that President Obama seemed taken aback by the

also implied that they were expecting something more along the lines of the

Apaw-1 Obama turned what should have been a solemn memorial into a raucous
political peppy rally which is the only thing he's good at.
Nitebird33 And how, pray tell, did THE PRESIDENT turn the event into a pep
rally? NOTHING in his speech was political. He didn't organize the event. What a
truly ignorant, and stupid, comment.
I pity you.
Earnrespect I agree Apaw-1. And while his mourner inspired campaign was
providing crocodile tears for his addicted followers, he has been very busy
eroding more of our economy into muslim countries> 1) AMMAN - The United States
is giving its longtime Jordanian ally an additional $100 million in economic aid
to help the poor, youth and underprivileged.
The grant is in addition to the $363 million in regular US economic assistance
to Jordan for the fiscal year 2010, bringing the total to $463 million.
2)WASHINGTON - A Lebanese government official says Lebanon's prime minister is
heading to France for consultations on his government's collapse.
Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri met with US President Barack Obama
Wednesday. The official said Obama offered US support.
3)U.S. Keeps Funneling Money To Troubled Afghan Projects McClatchy: For years,
U.S. officials held up Kabul's largest power plant project as a shining example
of how American taxpayers' dollars would pull Afghanistan out of grinding
poverty and decades of demoralizing conflict. But behind the scenes, the same
officials were voicing outrage over the slow pace of the project and its
skyrocketing costs. The problems were so numerous that one company official told
the U.S. government that he'd understand if the contract were canceled. 4)
Pakistan is now getting a "robust" increase to the billions already received, to
'bolster' their security. 5) Yemen - Al Quaida stronghold> US pledges more
economic incentives from Hillary and Barry
The fool in chief knows how to distract attention - whilst continuing to
sabotage and erode our overburdened economy at home in favor of muslim terrorist
Did Obama express any condolence - any help to Australia - a long time ally of

The GOP-NETWORK, and everyone else on the right, which, in Europe would be
considered a racist, hypocrite bunch, which with its combined stupidity and
ignorance drove the Cadillac into the ditch in the first place, almost brought
your country and the world to its knees. And you put THEM back into power, these
YOUR president restored the image of America in the world... and we do need each
other. Barrack Hussein Obama is a good man and a good president, if you'll only
let him do his job. Remember: NOBODY IS PERFECT! For over 50 years American
politics has punished Cuban Communists and the Cubans with an ongoing embargo...
funny! Do American politicians forget that CHINA IS INDEED a COMMUNIST
DICTATORSHIP. Why not boycott them??? Don't crawl up their behinds, just because
they finance your recovery... or do they? Actually they do not believe in WIN-
WIN situations... so, Good Luck!
FauxHunter thanks for that!
I agree we needed a pres who would be a partner in the world not some self-
righteous bully who didn't play well with others and dragged our reputation into
There is enough blame to go around on both sides for the economic mess we are
in. But, no one (in they're right mind) can say that Obama has done anything but
exacerbate the financial crisis. If (literally) bowing down to dictators
restores an image, who needs it.
Obama's perfection, or lack of it, is not the issue, it's his socialist, indeed
communist agenda, his detain for America and his policies that are the problem.
I want every Obama policy to fail. Because when that happens, America succeeds.
I think Obama is probably a nice guy, but he is an awful president.
(By the way - we can't "boycott" China. They own our debt, in large part, thanks
to Obama) (I do agree with you about Cuba. They have the best music in the world
newswoman Greyfox, you are an idiot. Bush put us in hock to China to fund his
two wars. Obama had nothing to do with this. You need a history lesson and fast.
redsunriseman1 here the proof we were in free fall , and now we are not , we
would have lost our industral base , and now we are not , we were hated by the
whole free world , and not we are not ,we were killing our own by deigning them
health insurance , and now we are not , we were screwing over women in their
paychecks and now we are not , we were acting like a tyrant, and now we are not
. Our Goverment was snaching up American's to whisk them off to be waterboarded
in foriegn lands, now we are not . All your President Bush did was ruin our
reputation, the world economey along with ours , kill thousands of men and women
for all Nations in a false War , and made a mockery of the Constitution world
wide. So concidering the fool you saddled us with the last 8 years We'll take
Obama ,and never look back as your sorry excuse of a adminstration !
pacifistgunslinger Of course you can boycott Chinese products, but you won't
because of your Walmart addiction. Face it, you hate America. You are the commie
you're complaining about.
Couple of questions for you ,if it's ok :
1. From your perspective then someone who disagrees with you on the point that
Obama has done nothing but exacerbate the financial crisis is not in their right
mind ? If a number of articles from such periodicals as the Financial Times, The
Economist, Forbes, Fortune, or a number of whitepapers published by various
business schools were provided to you that argued from a different perspective
(they do exist) from your own , would they then qualify as being of unsound mind
2. I am curious about the "bowing down to dictators" to which you refer. Can you
specifically identify which dictators and in what manner that the President
bowed down to them ? Two examples would work just fine for me.
3. Can you identify specifically what Obama's "communist" agenda is ? Do you
think he has plans for the imposition of a dictatorship of the proletariat , and
the confiscation of private holdings putting the means of production into the
hands of the workers ? Is there any information about his efforts to
collectivize agriculture ?
4. Can you be more specific about examples of Obama's "disdain " for America ?
In what way are his policies an expression of "disdain" ?
I am not making a case that you are wrong about any of these things .
I am making a case that you have given very little thought to the impact of what
you are asserting without evidence , and that by doing so you have invited a
cycle of contempt and vituperative retorts from similarly angry but oppositely
Perhaps that is your purpose . If so it would seem you have accomplished it.
And you have given your "liberal" opponents a pinata to bash .
There is no shortage of your opposite numbers as equally doctrinaire.
I urge you to consider a visit to your local library after googling a
bibliography on 20th Century Political History.
redsunriseman1 Thank you for being so right on that post dito !
pacifistgunslinger Teabaggers hate Communists but spend all their money
supporting a commie regime. That is typical teabagging.
If the GOP is considered racist in Europe it must be because you believe lies
fed to you by progressive/aka socialist sympathizing media who hate Republicans
and have fought them since Obama's election by calling "racist" anyone who
opposes Obamas socialist-democrat or just plain socialist policies...the
policies of redistribution that President Obama is trying to impose on an
unwilling American population.
Americans are no more racist than the French, Germans, British or Australian. I
have lived in the UK, Australia and the US and spent a lot of time in Europe.
People I know and even those I meet casually while traveling in Europe, would
not agree with you.
lennon2010 I guess there is a new definition for "memorial" in new Obamaland
speak. Crazy me, I expecting beautiful music, inspiring words and got t-shirts,
campaign style programs and souvenir stands, campaign speech along with
ObamaGod-walking thru the door and the congresswomen "opened her eyes" . Quite
frankly, libs, you have all really out-done yourselves this week. I'm sure that
kind of hysterical, crazy, is hard to maintain, so feel free to give the nation
Nitebird33 There were beautiful words eulogizing the victims. There was
beautiful music. Show me where the President was responsible for the t-
shirts...and, what souvenir stands? Do you have the capability to give a fair
critique? Who said he "walked in the door and she opened her eyes"? He only said
that she had opened her eyes that afternoon. If you have to embellish the
situation with your hate, at least get it correct.
RobbyS The T-shirts were a clue-less touch. Too much focus on the President. (Is
this the start of his comeback? etc).too little on the victims. But on thing
struck me, given that the speech was good: the language is not especially
Nitebird33 Robby...I agree that the T-shirts were lame. Although the language
might not be memorable, the victims will. That's all that matters.
marygard Robby- Capitalism at it's best.
Lilli917 The t shirts were from the University of Arizona, who planned the
event. I find it surprising that some of you insist it was a political event for
Obama. U of A was the place that refused to give Obama an honorary doctorate
when he spoke at their graduation. The only president that has been so treated.
Arizona is a pretty Republican state, but if you think it was a political rally
I wouldn't want to mess with your mind!
jerichothedrifter Lennon, do you get punched in the head very often? If not, you
Noontime1 lennon2010: Really? Thats some serious hatred there. Great comments,
you did well by your little "team." And thats all that really counts here,
Ronin58 lennon 2010
No problem with your animus with the President . Your pov.
No problem with your antipathy to all "libs" etc. Your pov.
Big problem with your subsitution of anger for argument .
Here is a post from someone who has a contempt for "liberal crazies" that surely
matches your own . He also is outspoken in the disgust he shares with you , and
he has a strong set of conservative principles that he puts his back into as
well as his thoughts :
"'Obama's speech specifically targeted people like the posters here who used
this tragedy to attack their political opponents. Good for him. Now, let's see
how his followers take his message to heart."
He is skeptical without having a vested interest in having it look a certain
way. Maybe it will get better. That's what he wants.
The question from my perspective is this ...do people use this commentary page
to vent or to discuss ?
The folks who shout "christer reich" or " paid shill for the right" vs the "
Osamabama crypto-marxist muslim " seem to be venting ...maybe that's a good
thing for it keeps their rage deflected from a more harmful expression. On the
other hand it might be fueling more rage.
Your choice ... make a contribution to the conversation or just vent your
I hope you choose the first option. Hell, it might be more fun , and someone
might actually walk away with something useful from what you said.
It could happen .
Hope you didn't mind my citing you as a "positive" example; I think you're more
used to being vilified .
redsunriseman1 Well your right on one count we do use this forum to vent
otherwise we'd be a kettle ready to boil over , it sickens me when conservatives
mix racial hatred into the same pot they mix their conservative views, What dose
keeping spending down to a reasonable amount have to do with Muslims, or what
dose keeping a spitural awareness have to do with hating a mans skin color, what
dose fical responsible have to do with putting down the 1st Lady for trying to
encourage healthy foods my mom did the same didn't yours ? My problem with the
new Conservative is that they need to seprate the haters from the real
politicans who want to change American for the better not repeat it's bad
newswoman Lennon, they played Aaron Copeland's "Fanfare to the Common Man"
before the President spoke. Weren't you listening? That WAS beautiful music!
This speech was held in a college stadium and the President was not responsible
for t-shirts, etc. Come on, grow up, and realize you don't see the truth, but
make up your own. You don't even recognize inspiring words or beautiful music.
pacifistgunslinger Get back in your Mission Accomplished bunker.
redsunriseman1 Hey the University put on the show not the Whitehouse so get your
facts straight before you start crying like a little girl .
